HEALTH PLANS: Health Plans face a number of unique environmental pressures that affect the way they will conduct business today and in the future - among them a need for increased privacy and security, an intense focus on risk management, access to capital, efforts to consolidate and streamline IT functions, the launch of new consumer-driven business models, managing chronic diseases through medical management practices, maximizing e-business-driven platforms, implementing health plan-specific customer relationship management tools and complying with increasing financial and transactional legislation. Our healthcare professionals can help clients address these and other challenges in today's complex health care environment. Essential functions of a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting: A Consultant at Deloitte functions as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology solutions to meet clients' business needs. A Consultant gains exposure to multiple industries while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by Deloitte Consulting LLP.  Responsibilities include defining systems strategy, developing system requirements, designing, prototyping, and testing custom technology solutions, and supporting system implementation.   Consultants in the Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing group are required to have:
  • 2 years of relevant technology architecture consulting or industry experience.
  • A minimum of 1 full life cycle implementation.
  • A willingness to travel 80 - 100% of the time
  • Ability to architect, design and develop an enterprise business intelligence and data warehousing solution
  • Define, design and implement logical and physical data models
  • Proficient with ETL tools and be able to architect an ETL solution
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Design and implement reporting data sources and complex reports
  • Design and develop data cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions involving standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching
  • Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes and technology
In addition, successful Consultants will have the following preferred background:
  • Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Willingness to mentor junior staff.
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • An advanced degree in the area of specialization is preferred.
