RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Sr. Business Leader role is a leadership position in the newly formed Visa Mobile Managed Services (VMMS) Product Management team within the Visa Global Processing division. The team is focused on defining and operating an industry-leading managed services platform in support of the Visa Mobile strategy.
- This position reports to the Sr. Business Leader of Visa Mobile Managed Services and will interface frequently with the other Product Managers and management staff within Visa, Fundamo, a Visa company, and select 3rd party systems integrators. This role will require extensive interaction with Visa Inc. staff, across a range of operational areas. The Sr. Business Leader will interact frequently with the regional and country specific management teams, Systems Development, Implementations, and Account teams, and is expected to contribute to the strategic and business direction of the team. The position will be based at the Fundamo/Visa Inc. offices in Cape Town, South Africa.
- This position requires the ability to assess a broad set of quantitative and qualitative issues in parallel, synthesize this information into key points and priorities, make recommendations to Visa Inc. management, and assume regional ownership of the VMMS platform, coordination with Global Systems and operations teams, account management teams and Fundamo development teams.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Regional expertise on the country specific requirements to support VMMS processing services in CEMEA region. Identification of integration partners (bill pay aggregators, USSD aggregators, MNO’s, FI’s, etc) and understanding of local regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development of business (functional and non-functional) requirements, project scope, identify benefits and risks, and partner with VMMS product team to manage all pre- and post-release aspects (delivery, reporting, documentation, training, support, marketing, and legal and regulatory issues) of major and minor development projects.
- Responsibility for understanding, reviewing, and providing input to all VMMS mobile projects being implemented in the region insuring that any potential changes provide a wide range of client benefits.
- Collecting, developing, and analyzing multiple concurrent business requirements and transferring the same knowledge to VMMS product team, development and other support teams by writing concept and scope documents, detailed business requirements, product specifications for both new products and enhancements to existing products.
- Responsibility for becoming the Visa Processing SME on the VMMS Platform with review and assessment of current functionality, including identification of functional areas that require enhancements to meet Visa Global Processing standards as it relates to CEMEA region.
- Work with Fundamo and Visa Account Management, Implementations, QA, Certification and Development teams to gather and interpret relevant data in order to resolve issues that relate to areas of product ownership.
- Develop and deliver presentations to both external and internal audiences in Working Groups, webinars and other venues regarding areas of product ownership.
- Work with Visa Mobile Product teams to develop aligned product plans, strategies and tactics in all areas of product ownership.
- Collaborate and lead interactions with functional areas such as business development, account development, IT development and support, QA, customer service, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Plan, communicate, implement, and report on the progress of product plans which take into account the implications of changing market dynamics.
- Assess the effectiveness of the overall product organization and provide feedback to VMMS management in order to insure the mobile managed service product reflects both current and future client and market needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Typically requires 10-15 years of total work experience, including resource management experience
- Experience in and/or significant exposure to the financial services/payments processing and mobile industry required
- Global or multinational business experience preferred
- Ability to handle projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
- Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with Global Functions and Regions
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
