The ALCO Strategy team is comprised of internal strategic consultants that support Capital One's Chief Financial Officer, EVP of BSM, Corporate Treasurer, and Chief Investment Officer in driving their strategic agenda with the CEO and Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. The Principal Associate position will enable the associate to gain a broad experience with several different BSM and Treasury areas, including Capital Management, Liquidity Management, Funding, Interest Rate Risk Management, and Investment Portfolio Management. This role has recurring deliverables to support our Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) and Board of Directors meetings, which will require the associate to partner with subject matter experts across Treasury and the broader organization to gather data and communicate information about their respective areas. In addition to regular ALCO and Board-related deliverables, this associate will also be involved in ad-hoc strategy projects, usually for the Executive Committee or the Board of Directors, around balance sheet strategy. Potential projects include the impact of acquisitions, new regulatory reforms, or business expansions on balance sheet management. This role affords a candidate the exceptional opportunity to provide support in evaluating some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the corporation and the banking industry today. Successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to learn about Capital One's different businesses within and outside of the BSM and Treasury departments and how they impact balance sheet strategy. Responsibilities: - Support the planning, coordination and collection of inputs for monthly ALCO and quarterly Board meetings as well as ad-hoc presentations - Develop and run financial analyses and support the development of executive presentations for ALCO and Board meetings - Maintain strong business partnerships with internal clients and subject matter experts within and outside of BSM and Corporate Treasury - Develop minor special topics presentations with the manager's guidance for ALCO, Board and ad-hoc projects Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field - 4 years of experience in finance, banking, or related field - 2 years of experience and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications: - Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance - CFA - Management consulting or investment banking experience - Strong integrative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and handle multiple assignments simultaneously - Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication skills - Proven ability to deliver results - Understanding of Capital Markets - Capacity to operate in "white-space" - Experience with Bloomberg and SNL Datasource At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
