As a part of the program, a Basel II Compliance Management (BCM) team has been established to ensure the program satisfies the requirements identified in Basel II, to create and oversee execution of the Basel II implementation plan, to manage Basel II adherence through the parallel year and into the first transitional year, and to establish on-going sustainable and well-managed processes. The BCM Sustainability Management team is hiring for a position that will partner with Basel II program workstreams and business areas to develop and implement requirements, controls, monitoring and other governance and oversight functions for Basel II compliance. This position will interpret regulatory requirements and work with key business teams and risk leaders to define, implement, measure and validate key regulatory controls. Responsibilities: - Support the development of Basel Compliance Management governance and oversight functions as part of Basel II Program team - Understand and explain Basel II regulations, regulatory guidance and other requirements - Partner with a subset of business, program, and IT leads to identify applicability and determine effective control structures for Basel II requirements - Support the design and implementation of key controls which ensure Basel II compliance - Provide oversight of and/or leadership in identification and resolution of Basel II compliance issues - Support the development of compliance testing and monitoring to ensure compliance - Keep abreast of financial industry laws and regulations and provide regulatory expertise Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree - 3 years experience in a field related to risk management (e.g., compliance, legal, audit, business risk office, operations risk management, credit risk management, or finance) - 2 years experience supporting projects implementing new regulations or applying regulations to new business functions Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of and experience with implementing Basel II final rules Compliance or other Risk Management certifications (CRCM, RMA-CRC, etc.) - 2 years experience with a Compliance Management Program (CMP) framework, specifically as it relates to governance, training, risk assessment, corrective action, decision making, monitoring, and reporting years experience in a field related to risk management (e.g., compliance, legal, audit, business risk office, operations risk management, credit risk management, or finance) - Knowledge of and experience with laws and regulations that apply to banks and financial institutions - Knowledge of and experience with Credit Risk Management, Treasury and Regulatory Reporting - Knowledge of and experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance systems (GRC) - Knowledge of and experience with credit management and compliance risk management policies, standards, and procedures At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
