Business Risk Associates consult with leaders in Global Finance areas to articulate Business Risk strategy, tools and methodologies. This position will contribute to the Business Risk Office's ability to: -Manage business risk throughout Capital One to ensure minimal business risk exists -Keep abreast of financial industry laws and regulations and provide regulatory expertise in consulting with a diverse group of business line leaders -Oversee staff as they perform business duties and/or provide technical advice to the Global Finance business areas Responsibilities: -Inform the Global Finance department of risks surrounding the requirements of law and regulation with which they must comply -Advise business leaders on their obligations under the Capital One Compliance Management Policy -Influence and guide business leaders to risks associated with applicable laws and regulations -Evaluate business initiatives and processes from a business risk perspective, including new ventures, products, systems, marketing initiatives and credit models -Develop and maintain business risk laws and regulations applicability report for assigned Business Area(s) -Validate fulfillment of corrective action to close any identified business risk gaps or breakdowns -Advise on adequacy of Capital One business risk performance for Global Finance business areas -Promote a culture of managed risk taking -Work independently under general supervision, with latitude for initiative and independent judgment -Assess business risk management program effectiveness -Manage business risk regulatory relationships within their areas of responsibility and convey and/or coordinate their area(s) position on business risk regulatory issues to the regulatory community as well as internally Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree - A total of 5 years experience made up of any of the following: - 2 Years of Business Risk-related or Compliance or Operations Management experience - 2 Years experience in Banking, Financial Services or other Compliance related field - 1-2 Year people management experience Preferred Qualifications: -Treasury and Accounting Risk Experience Preferred - 5 years of Business Risk-related or Compliance or Operations Management experience - JD, Master's degree or MBA - CPA or CIA -One or more of the following certifications: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, Certified Information Privacy Professional, Fair Credit Reporting Act Certification, Certified Fraud Examiner - 5+ Years experience in Banking or Financial Services or Related compliance areas - Strong communication skills - Ability to influence across the organization - Organizational skills to handle multiple activities / projects simultaneously - Business Process Management certification - Background in finance and accounting or corporate treasury - Comfortable with ambiguity and white-space thinking Job: Accounting, Finance and Treasury Primary Location: United States-Virginia-McLean-Northern VA-McLean Campus (19050) Other Locations:United States-Virginia-Richmond-Richmond-West Creek 5 (12075) Schedule: Full-time Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time Job Posting: Unposting Date: | Employment Type: | Full Time | Region/Country: | Americas, United States | States/Counties: | Virginia | City: | Mclean | Address: | Post Date: | 02/10/2012 |
