  • Provide strong leadership of the categories to create a clear vision and purpose, and inspire, influence and challenge within the team and the business to pursue and deliver that vision
  • Proactively collaborate with Regional Procurement, with the Sourcing support teams in the COE and with the business areas to strive for higher levels of control (complementary programmes and category alignment), success and effectiveness (on cost and risk factors) in sourcing of all local spend within the category.
  • Improve Citi's commercial arrangements and demonstrate Procurement influence
  • Engage with Regional Category Lead and, where agreed, assist or directly undertake designated multi country sourcing programmes
  • Create plans and targets for the categories that aligns to stakeholder needs, maintaining positive supplier and internal client interests
  • Achieve specific category targets/ goals
  • Develop, lead and manage the team (including supporting resources in the UKI COE group) to achieve category targets/ goals
  • Identify and apply appropriate sourcing levers to programmes, such as benchmarking, tendering, process improvement, volume leverage, supplier consolidation and product substitution/ elimination to reduce cost and provide improvements in the timely fulfilment of business needs
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of purchasing policies and procedures. Ensure full compliance with purchasing (and other relevant) policies, procedures and standards, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations
  • Coordinate and undertakeall administrative requirements for MIS reporting, Citi's approved supplier program, supplier diversity, contract management system, procure-to-pay system, related metrics and reporting
  • Undertake succession planning to ensure continuity of the sourcing approach to the managed categories within the team
