The goal of the Global Head of Securities Fund Services Control Oversight Unit is to develop and maintain a comprehensive process to identify and reduce operational, franchise, reputational and strategic business risk. Reporting to the Head of Global Oversight and working 'front to back' across the SFS operations business this role will be primarily responsible for the proactive resolution of operating risk and control issues. This requires significant co-ordination across internal operations teams, liaison with other business and support groups and will span multiple geographical areas and legal jurisdictions.

In addition, the holder will be expected to participate in key strategic projects and initiatives to provide proactive control evaluations and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as single point of contact for key SFS Operations Heads globally, providing an expert overview of operational risk and regulatory activities from all sources (e.g. Operations, Regulatory, Business, Compliance and Audit Risk Review etc) and adding value by interpreting, analysing and offering appropriate context to that information.
• Partner with the Global Strategy and Risk Officer for SFS Operations and Client Delivery to establish, maintain and continuously improve control and risk management.
• Proactively manage operational risk through working closely with Control Officers and line managers from within Operations, Product and other Support Groups.
• Provide SME input and advice on risks, the appropriateness of controls, potential improvement needs and best practices.

• Provide a two way window to the wider controls world and actively drive SFS engagement in that environment.
• Develop and implement an operational risk process and policy framework.
• Ensure control assessments and initiatives properly cover risks and controls, driving the implementation and oversight of corrective action plans as appropriate.
• Monitor any significant proposed external changes; participate in the framing, assessment and implementation of any amendments in process or policy that may subsequently be required.
• Provide a centralized process for aggregating and executive management reporting of risk information.
• Obtain, edit and consolidate data for quarterly reporting (e.g. BRCC, Disclosure Committee, SOA).
• Provide advice and support as a participant in significant Operations projects and control initiatives as required.
• Act as site manager for GTS Oversight Operations Control personnel in NY/NAM. Matrix responsibility for TTS Oversight personnel in NY/NAMExperience/Competencies:
• Excellent understanding of ICG Citi Policies, Risk and Control principles and requirements
• Extensive audit/control experience
• Business experience and knowledge of GTS products and operations
• Strong people, process and business focus
• Extensive management experience, with a demonstrable record of directing and developing SME teams
• Multi site / multi jurisdiction leadership including motivating and guiding matrix reports

Skills:
• Ability to think strategically
• Excellent relationship building skills across all management levels
• Proven experience in the interpretation of regulatory / policy requirements
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex and sensitive issues to Senior Management
• Proficient in metrics/KRIs assessment and reporting Strong organisational skills with ability to multi-task
• Analytical with attention to quality and strong problem solving skills

• Proactive, able to take the lead in devising creative solutions
• Efficient team player
• Excellent time management skills

Qualifications:
• Degree qualified
• Relevant professional qualification (CA, MBA) preferred
• Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience
