Business Overview:
The Commercial Risk organization is responsible for the independent risk management of Citi's Local Commercial Bank (LCB). The LCB is currently housed within Citibank's Consumer Business. The LCB has a presence in more than 30 countries and represents a market segment covering commercial customers generally with sales up to $500MM. The global portfolio is approximately $60 billion.
Summary:
This position will provide analytical support for the Commercial Risk Oversight Global Office. The position requires strong analytical skills, excellent database-management skills, and an understanding of the fundamentals of credit risk. The analyst will handle a mix of ongoing responsibilities and ad hoc projects and will work in close coordination with one or more members of the New York-based Oversight Office. The analyst will have contact with all levels of Citi's Risk Management and with Commercial Risk and Business officers around the globe. He or she should have a strong interest in global management and in the challenges associated with overseeing a global business. The assignment will provide a broad experience base on which to build a career at Citibank.
Responsibilities:
-Using the LCB database, produce routine and specialized reports
-Collect and review data from all of the LCB countries
-Prepare periodic and ad hoc presentations for Citibank Senior Management and for other audiences
-Review portfolio performance, identify trends, and investigate significant changes
-Participate in regular portfolio reviews and other risk oversight activities
-Assist in monitoring and managing the Risk Framework limits and guidelines, and prepare quarterly update reports.
-Review Credit Programs for clarity and consistency
-Assist in managing the Industry Workstreams
-Provide analysis and support for transactional approval requests that are elevated to the Global Office
Qualifications:
-BS or BA in related field
-3-5 years Risk Management experience
-Highly proficient in database management and statistics required
-Highly proficient in MS Office - (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of SAS preferred
-Comprehensive knowledge of Citibank risk reporting systems preferred
-Knowledge of Accounting Financial Reporting
-Fundamental knowledge of credit and banking products and the concepts of credit analysis
-Credit analytics and Financial Modeling
-Detail oriented, able to work independently and to prioritize workload
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate concisely and clearly
-Strong Interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment and eagerness to learn
-Energetic, responsive team player willing to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
