As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will promote and market the firm's mortgage products to clients, team members and partners inside and outside the branch footprint. Job Posting Description (JPD): The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) proactively solicits new residential mortgage business and sells Bank of America mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals. In this ongoing sales role, the Mortgage Loan Officer continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. A Mortgage Loan Officer's network may consist of real estate professionals, builders, professional and personal contacts, as well as other valuable referral sources, and is enhanced by the Mortgage Loan Officer's regular participation in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote homeownership and professional organizations. May be partnered with a Mortgage Loan Associates (MLA) to provide guidance around all aspects of the sales process. The MLO responds to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from both their own contacts and from other Bank of America business channels. The MLO conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advice customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information. The MLO ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements. Duties include: · Obtain mortgage loans from referral sources including but not limited to: bank branch customers, existing clients and realtors. · Using sound judgment and effective marketing and promotion techniques · Assess and evaluate customer's financial needs to build strong relationships with customers following-up on a regular basis. · Ability to actively listen and determine what financial products meet the customer's needs and circumstances. · Determine and recommend financial product and service solutions for customers based on analysis of customer finances and customer's needs and objectives. · Maintain relationship by providing superior customer consultation, advice, counseling and service. · Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and leverage cross-selling and promotional opportunities. · Coordinate all aspects of the mortgage application process. · Use sound judgment and work independently, but be part of a team driving towards shared financial goals of the Firm. · Communicate effectively with peers, colleagues and management. · Meets minimum performance standards (determined by Region Manager). · Balance Internal and External sourcing. · Market and promote the financial products offered by the Firm. · Partner with co-workers to meet with and advise customers regarding their financial needs. · Be the Premier Partner (in footprint territories) · Respond to customer needs and inquiries within 24 hours. · Keep Personal Bankers and Banking Center Managers informed on status of client relationship and needs and objectives. · Market and promote the financial mortgage products to the Banking Center teams. · Recognize Personal Bankers & the Banking Center team by advising and consulting regarding the financial mortgage products and opportunities. · Promote, market and cross-refer products that meet customers' financial needs and objectives. Key Responsibilites · Drive mortgage sales in the Banking Center · Drive majority of sales production on new mortgage business by selling all 1st mortgage products in assigned Banking Center(s) through existing and prospective mortgage referrals · Manage referrals end-to-end from assigned Banking Center to ensure effective fulfillment and timely closing · Partner with Banking Center Manager to drive overall store mortgage results. May include planning daily/weekly activities for meeting and exceeding sales goals, including referral targets for banking center teammates · Track and measure personal and store mortgage sales results against forecast and plan · Monitor and post daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and pipeline · Coach Banking Center associates to identify and uncover mortgage needs and successfully transfer opportunities · Provide shoulder-to-shoulder coaching to help Banking Center associates identify mortgage opportunities and generate referrals. · Coach Banking Center associates on uncovering mortgage needs through key banking center plays such as Selling the Bank of America Way and lobby leadership. · Attend sales meetings, huddles and other meetings within your assigned Banking Center (as necessary) · Lead mortgage awareness in the Banking Center · Generate self-sourced mortgage sales by cultivating and growing relationships with realtors, builders and other external sources · Leverage relationships built through referrals received inside the Banking Center · Participate in community efforts and bank sponsored activities to promote home ownership · Identify cross-sell opportunities from mortgage customers and refer to Banking Center · Understand Banking Center opportunites and become an integral part of the Banking Center team · Uncover other banking product needs from mortgage customers and refer back to Banking Center teammates for the sale · Know the mortgage business---policies, products, procedures, compliance, etc. · Proactively increase knowledge of new products and processes · Understand the market demographics of assigned Banking Center(s) in order to maximize mortgage sales · Understand the Banking Center culture · Be a champion for the customer by exceeding established standards for satisfaction and loan quality · Create a great experience for cutomers purchasing or refinancing their home · Maintain high levels of customer service while meeting or exceeding each applicant's and business partner's expectations · Present appropriate Bank of America products and programs and explain guidelines under supervision of the Sales Manager This position may be subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements.
