Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Front Office environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs. Associates work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Associates are expected to have in-depth capital markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Associates typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Responsible for day to day supervision for a small team of associates; provides coaching and input into the performance management process.
Required Skills:
- Provide as needed support to maintain and sustain the stability of the Arctic infrastructure.
- Provide day to day support and resolution of ad hoc infrastructure support requests.
- Facilitate near term tactical support efforts as needed, e.g. new server builds, patch rollouts, upgrades, configuration changes, SAN and NAS M.A.C's (Move Add Change).
- Partner with Enterprise Technology and Delivery teams to help facilitate the completion of new and in-flight
- As part of project initiatives, interface with Data Center Operations, Storage, Network and Database teams as needed basis to provide dupport of the infrastructure, as well as execution of Service Requests.
- Support infrastructure managers and technical project managers through Small Work Efforts and large scale projects, (GWR's)
- Review and monitor systems performance and escalate anomalies as needed for resolution.
- Facilitate changes to the Storage Infrastructure as needed to meet demands.
- Respond to requests from development and QA teams for adhoc infrastructure related requests.
- Manage and maintain Infrastructure related documentation repositories via SharePoint.
- Develop and maintain requisite documentation on an ongoing basis for new strategic infrastructure deployments. .e.g. Configuration documents, storage reports, performance metrics, capacity and trend analysis reports.
- Escalate and follow through to resolution with applicable teams any critical infrastructure related issues.
- Participate in weekly meetings, providing status and follow up on tasks as needed.
- Support and where appropriate manage issue tracking/resolution and scope changes.
Qualifications • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years experience within a financial services firm is a must.
• 7 - 10 years experience in all aspects of end to end IT infrastructure deployment, inclusive of an extensive background in windows/Unix/Solaris/Linux systems and network administration ( including experience with major and minor subsystems, e.g. NFS, DFS, DNS, NIS, etc.)
• Broad experience with midrange infrastructure: hardware, middleware, software, databases, servers, storage, networking (LAN/WAN) and comm. systems, switches, routers, SAN and NAS. ( IBM, SUN, HP, Netezza, Netapp, EMC/Clarion, Solaris, Red Hat, MQ )
• Experience with infrastructure deployments and migrations in a large corporate environment.
• VLDB Infrastructure experience is a plus.
• Basic understanding and experience with RDMS (Oracle, DB2, Sybase, and MS-SQL) is a must.
• Experience working in a large corporate environment is a must.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project application suite is a must.
• Familiarity with server clustering, HA, disaster recovery principles and design.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills are a must. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels and positions.
