Purpose of role
Shared Services and Wealth Operations comprises c. 2,500 staff spanning 30 separate sites across 14 jurisdictions providing client-focused, high-quality, responsive and commercial operations services in support of the success of Barclays Capital and Barclays Wealth. This role will be within the Business Management function which is responsible for driving commercial performance of the function through optimal linkages between client service, risk, human capital and financial performance whilst ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives of the function and Barclays Capital and Barclays Wealth more broadly.
The Head of the Operations Management Office provides support to the Head of Business Management Shared Service (Barclays Capital and Barclays Wealth) and Wealth Operations, in the management and effective running of the Operations function. The role holder will work closely with the Head of Business Management, the Head of Operations and the senior leadership team to shape and articulate the strategic agenda, with a strong focus on communication including to senior stakeholders up to and including COO and CEO level.
Core accountabilities
Stakeholder management: The role holder will engage with various senior stakeholders including the Operations Leadership Team, Business Managers and Infrastructure support functions, to understand emerging requirements for the function, address and respond to material day-to-day issues, as well as shape and publicise the strategic priorities for Operations.
Management information: The role holder will develop and own functional communications for the Head of Operations, managing the dissemination of key messaging across the function globally, leveraging Communications business partners as required. The role holder will draft reports and presentations on working topics for a variety of senior forums e.g. Operating, Management and Steering Committees. The role holder will work jointly with the Head of Operations to prepare agendas and materials for Leadership forums, and provide Secretariat support for key meetings where required e.g. minutes, action logs, etc.
Strategic support: The role holder will provide support in shaping the Operations management agenda and priorities, in particular working with the Business Management and Change functions to ensure that the requirements and feedback of senior stakeholders are considered and reflected in the strategic priorities of the function.

Operational management: The role holder will be responsible for addressing and responding to material day-to-day issues; interfacing with key stakeholders; responding to senior management priorities and providing senior administrative support in the preparation of the Head of Operations management schedule. The Head of Management Office will prepare formal briefing notes on meetings/committees attended by the Head of Operations and will provide personal support in the day-to-day management of the Operations function as required, proactively identifying potential issues.

The role holder will ensure absolute clarity on the full range of stakeholders and ensure the appropriate the level of involvement/ buy-in, and communications required. The role holder will understand the expectations of all stakeholder groups and individuals and manage towards their expectations.
