They will deliver first rate sales management practices across the team whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management parameters. A key element of the role is to develop a sales plan that will achieve a targeted income to contribute to the overall goals of Wealth International within Barclays Wealth. Also, coaching and development of the advisers to achieve and maintain competency within our T&C framework is critical. Core accountabilities Sales Management Works with the Head of Mortgages to agree sales targets to achieve immediate financial goals and profitable sustained growth through providing clients with a world class service. Develops a team sales plan and is responsible for its delivery, while also managing costs and income within an agreed budget and driving improvements within the business. Works closely with local colleagues to develop the business and drive local business introductions. Works closely with other areas of the business including contact centres and mortgage support staff to maximise business opportunities and provide excellent service. Leadership Energises challenges and leads effective sales and service delivery and a culture of excellence across the team. Is responsible for coaching, training and development needs to ensure talent is grown. Takes responsibility for the people management agenda, including resourcing and driving a high performance culture within the team. Risk Management The Mortgage Team Leader will control and manage operational risk for the team by ensuring adherence to all internal and International Banking risk policies and regulatory requirements. Adheres to all such standards, both legal and regulatory to avoid exposure to risk. Will be responsible for ensuring all advisers within their team give appropriate advice and maintain competency within the Barclays Wealth T&C framework. Will also understand and adhere to regulatory requirements and changing needs within the local market as well as within the UK market. Client Service Management Proactively identifies and monitors key client service issues to ensure the team delivers exceptional service. Follows customer satisfaction surveys, supports the Head of Mortgages in delivering action plans to increase sales performance. Works closely with colleagues to continually improve our service proposition and operational models. Supervisory responsibilities Manage a team of up to 6-8 mortgage advisers. All supervisory requirements as defined by the WI T&C scheme must be adhered to and recorded including observations, file checks, 121's and client care calls. T&C recording and monitoring to be in line with WI requirements and accurate logs to be maintained for all advisers. The Team Leader is also required to maintain competent supervisor standard. Key clients (internal and external) Barclays Wealth local Premier and direct clients. New clients. Wealth Intermediaries clients. Large institutions such as Trust companies. Mortgage brokers Internal stakeholders will include Relationship Managers, Personal Bankers, banking staff and business managers.
