Our Credit Risk Function underpins all our future success and our credit strategy analysts are some of the most creative statisticians in the industry. They're at the forefront of working with our commercial teams to maximise profit and launch new businesses. To make sure we stay ahead of our competitors, you'll be analysing data to find ways that we can improve our financial standing. It'll be your SAS skills which will determine our future goals and be at the root of new concepts. Most importantly, your work will help us create the most efficient production and marketing strategies, so that we can identity the right customers and manage risk. It's a constant balancing act between considering long-term strategy and short-term profit, and you'll have to be able to plan for both by looking at the bigger picture. You'll need a way with words as well as figures, as you'll be building relationships with our stakeholders, and you should be confident in your ability to influence their decisions. You don't have to come from a banking background but to really make a difference in this role, you'll have a good understanding of how business works; after all, that's how you'll align your project plans with our business objectives. Preferably, you'll have practical experience of solving complex business problems gained in the industry, as well as a 2:1 (or higher) in a mathematical or statistical related subject that you're raring to put into action. Provided you're talented and ambitious, you'll have every opportunity to develop in line with Barclaycard's ongoing successes.
