What will the role involve?
Primary responsibilities:
  • Lead operational and strategic change initiatives to enhance the processes, systems and policies that support payments tariff management to enhance client satisfaction and Barclays Corporate market positioning, both in the UK and internationally
  • Contribute to the professionalization of the payments tariff management function within Barclays Corporate
  • Leadership in the solutioning for more complex deal structures; Operational support for the BAU function of the MT Pricing desk
Key Accountabilities
Change Management (50%)
  • Business change owner, define and deliver operational and strategic change (e.g. process, system) initiatives in the UK and internationally
  • Collaborate with key internal partners (e.g. Product, Sales, Relationship, tech, operations), in the UK and internationally, to effectively embed change within the organization
  • Conduct analysis (internal and market) to report on performance and to identify opportunities (e.g. segment level pricing strategies, portfolio management) for improved efficiency and effectiveness of current MT tariff policy and structures
  • Market/Competition: Co-ordinate the monitoring of the competitive market for payment products, identifying trends and opportunities to secure a market leading position for Barclays Corporate in the UK and internationally.
  • Stakeholder management: Establish and strengthen relationships with key Stakeholders to facilitate active feedback and co-ordinate change initiatives across teams and SBUs and with other change initiatives within Barclays Corporate
Active Customer Management (20%)
  • Active customer management: working with other members of the MT pricing team to actively monitor key client segments and top tier customers through review of customer level MI; recommend and execute on opportunities to improve client satisfaction and reduce client attrition
  • ensure compliance to agreed sanction terms and conditions; inform segment level pricing strategies; investigate and escalate as needed
Pricing Decision support (20%)
  • Evaluate Request for Special pricing: Receive and review and opine on the more complex requests for special concession with support of relevant internal partners (e.g. product management, operations, sales, relationship teams)
  • Tenders: Collaborate with the Tendering team to respond to key RFPs and RFIs in the UK and internationally
  • Keep up to date with market trends in the area of Payment pricing
People Development (10%)
  • Relationships: Build close and effective relationship with Regional Cash Directors and team leads within Barclays Corporate Coverage team
  • Communicate current tariff policy and rationale (including product positioning, pricing strategy) to Sales and Relationship teams, through various channels (e.g. intranet, information calls, presentations) to promote MT tariff management excellence
What will you need?
The job holder will demonstrate, or have the capacity to develop:

  • Expert analytical skills to review Management information; recommend and execute on agreed actions
  • Expert systems knowledge to understand consequences of change initiatives and to identify/execute on change opportunities
  • Strong Project management skills to advance change initiatives at pace
Preferred
  • Knowledge of the payments market (UK and internationally)
  • Knowledge of Barclays' Payment products/solutions and delivery channels
  • Understanding of competitors offerings in the Payments market (UK and international)
  • Previous experience in constructing, reviewing and actioning MI
