Overall Job Purpose The jobholder is accountable to the Director, Credit Policy and Regulatory Risk for : - Managing the development and review of Wholesale Credit Risk policy, guidance and standards and overseeing implementation across the clusters.
- Managing Wholesale Credit Risk compliance with BIPRU.
- Supporting the Group Wholesale Credit Risk Director in managing the overall Wholesale Credit risk profile of the bank.
Key Accountabilities Manage the development and review of Wholesale Credit Risk policy, guidance and standards and oversee implementation across the Group (40%) - Develop, enhance and annually review Wholesale Credit Risk policy, guidance and processes

- Facilitate Group compliance with legal regulatory and voluntary code requirements
- Remain aligned to the needs of the Group
- Meet best practice standards demanded for an effective and efficient risk management function
- Deliver initiatives to ensure alignment between business units in areas that require Group level consistency, for instance the Group approach to expected loss
- Review and evaluate the compliance of business units with Group policies and supporting key processes for wholesale credit risk, including ensuring that lower level policies and processes (owned and approved by Clusters) are consistent with them
- Provide support to business units to ensure their compliance with Group policies, including sharing best practice and expert direction in terms of what is required to meet Group level standards
Develop and oversee implementation of a regulatory framework which ensures compliance with BIPRU in roll out portfolios (30%) - Provide support to roll out portfolios in achieving IRB status, which will include challenge and review of project scope, assumptions and self assessment
- Manage Wholesale Credit Risk compliance with BIPRU
- Manage education and awareness of regulatory issues within clusters and Group and provide regulatory policy interpretation for wholesale credit risk related matters
- Implement the process for pre and post notification of significant changes to the FSA on a quarterly basis
- Provide expert guidance to business units to support the implementation of Group Wholesale Credit Risk policies, including Expected Loss, Credit Risk Mitigation, Senior Management Awareness and Use Test policies
- Collaborate with other Group functions to ensure a joined up approach to capital management
Support the Group Wholesale Credit Risk Director in managing the overall Wholesale Credit risk profile of the bank (30%) - Provide support to the Wholesale Credit Risk Director across a range of activities and ad hoc projects including:
- Special projects and reports
- Interacting with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Management, Regulators, Rating Agencies and Investors
- Undertaking and supporting conformance reviews to
- Test compliance with the Credit Risk Control Framework, building on the attestations provided
- Discuss findings with business area management and negotiate the final report with Business risk management
- Assess the E2E framework for risk management throughout the credit life cycle and to include policy, governance, and MI as well as senior management involvement and understanding and the use test.
