Purpose of role Supporting the Wealth Advisory offshore trust and fiduciary services business, the Assistant Trust Officer will effect clients' banking instruction; construct written communications; various bookkeeping tasks including monthly bank investment portfolio reconciliations and assist with cash collections and liaise and communicate with their team on client instructions. The Assistant Trust Officer will also have a good understanding of Barclays Wealth systems, banking and Navision systems, have a working knowledge of objectives of offshore structures and awareness of business environment, display an enthusiastic, confident, mature and professional manner in the work place, develop good working relationships when dealing with Intermediaries and Clients; support their team with an enthusiastic and flexible approach to completing tasks; effectively sort and prioritise work load and communicate with the Line Manager on all aspects of work including notifying them of any problems. The Assistant Trust Officer will also be required to supervise the day to day tasks and assist with the development of junior members within the team. Core accountabilities Administration The Assistant Trust Office will be involved in various aspects of administration including; acting on clients' banking instructions; written communications; bookkeeping; collecting cash and reviewing debtors on a regular basis; client billing and setting up trusts and liaising with the statutory department in relation to the formation and dissolution of the companies. Team Work Control Assist in the risk management process by consulting with senior team members to identify money-laundering risks. Adhering to all regulatory procedures and presenting a cheerful, positive and professional image to colleagues and clients. They will assist in training more junior members of staff demonstrating by example the need to sort and prioritise tasks and supporting the team with a flexible approach to work. Judgement and Initiative They will assess where the team and business could benefit from additional ad hoc duties and volunteering to assist others when capacity allows. Work without close direction, solving problems and reacting to or creating opportunities. Supervisory responsibilities The role holder will at times supervise less experienced members of the team providing assistance and guidance on a daily basis. In addition, they will provide input to the performance assessment of team members, imparting feedback and coaching where required.
