We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Defined Benefits Specialist in our Winston Salem, NC office. This position will support Aon Hewitt's Benefits Administration group.

JOB OVERVIEW

Reviews and analyzes defined benefits plan documents and policy guidelines to interpret and determine benefit eligibility. Generates manual and system-generated calculations; interfaces with plan participants, client groups and external contacts to determine appropriate benefit resolutions; provides guidance on benefit related issues; prepares written responses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prioritizes work to ensure departmental standards are met
• Analyzes and interprets policy guidelines for benefits-related services.
• Reviews and researches data from a variety of sources (i.e. systems, reference materials, actuaries, clients, etc.)
• Manually calculates pension benefits
• Interfaces with plan participants, client groups and external contacts to determine appropriate pension resolutions.
• Prepares written responses to customer inquiries.
• Responsible for other pension administration duties as needed.
• Creates and maintains process documentation of day to day work activities

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Prior Defined Benefits calculation experience and/or mathematics education preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Pension or benefits background a plus

MINIMUM EDUCATION

High School Degree orEquivalent required. Bachelor's degree with a major in Mathematics or Business is preferred.
