This position will be located in the Northeast, preferably New York City.

Aon Consultant & Actuary, Predictive Modeling and General Consulting

This is a dynamic position where you will have the opportunity to contribute in two significant areas:

• You will have an important role in our Predictive Modeling initiative providing innovative analytic and predictive solutions to a wide variety of clients, industries, and business situations. This position will have dotted-line reporting to the Regional Director of the Northeast Region who is the national practice leader for predictive analytics.
• You will also be an actuarial consultant to a few of our Fortune 500 clients helping them to better understand—and provide solutions for—their retained risks, insurance programs, captives, and a variety of other risk and capital issues. The position will report directly to the leader of our Greater New York office (NYC).

The Actuarial and Analytics practice of Aon Global Risk Consulting (A&A-AGRC) staffs actuaries and consultants that are specialists in all major industries including: insurance, restaurants, manufacturing, technology, financial institutions, healthcare, pharmaceutical/ chemical, agribusiness, construction, retail, transportation, public-entity/non-profit, consumer products, and hospitality. We also provide expertise in dealing with special liabilities such as asbestos, products and professional liability and self-insurance. The A&A-AGRC team partners with Aon Risk Services (ARS), Aon's account management and broking team, which provides the majority of our new business opportunities.

As part of our team, you will be instrumental to the management of client relationships, the creation of innovative actuarial solutions, and the retention and growth of business in the largest office of Aon's Global Risk Consulting Group. You will join a countrywide team of nearly 100 actuaries and consultants of which 45 hold actuarial designations. Your work will be to provide actuarial and technical guidance to a variety of Fortune 1000 clients across a broad spectrum of risk issues, coverages, and industries relating to commercial and/or personal lines risk. Aon needs your leadership skills to:

• Advise Clients & Deliver Value: Directly accountable for the relationship management, risk assessment, and solutions-driven consulting with clients. You must possess and use highly effective communication skills in dealing with all organizational levels, internally and externally. Provide information and understanding to both internal Aon and external client leadership with the ability to positively influence people at various levels.
• Drive Execution & Results: Identify and service clients' needs and introduce appropriate plans of action while ensuring Aon's goals and strategies are met. Be firmly committed to distinctive client service to further differentiate Aon from our competitors.
• Manage Deliverables: Lead team deliverables involving modeling, loss distribution curve fitting, sophisticated Monte-Carlo simulation, projection, and reserve valuation as well as various supporting studies and reports.
• Lead Change & Innovation: Successfully lead and drive innovative approaches to client risk issues. Demonstrate creativity in service delivery and develop tactical plans to achieve Aon's initiatives.
• Maximize Resources: Identify and lead resources across Aon business groups bringing the best expertise to your client deliverables. Accountable to continuous learning and professional development and remaining well-informed of related industry trends and the regulatory landscape.

Qualifications

Approximately 5+ years directly related experience, demonstrated client consulting skills and proven technical actuarial techniques used to assess risk.

• Degreed professional, ACAS preferable.
• Experience in Predictive Modeling preferred.
• Expertise in stochastic modeling and Monte Carlo simulation; experience with @Risk preferable.
• Meets continuing education requirements to sign actuarial opinion.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
• Ability to write custom reports for actuarial projects that clearly communicates finding and methodologies.

Strong knowledge of PC related tools for actuarial analysis, technology applications and data utilization for actuarial functions.
