Aon's Risk Services business offers retail brokerage services, including advisory services to financial institutions, marine, aviation, construction, healthcare, entertainment and energy industries; risk management solutions that cover property, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and personal lines to individuals, associations and businesses; and premium finance services, as well as engages in captive management services.Duties and Responsibilities Position has the following responsibilities: - Manage a team of 2 accountants, responsible for the day to day accounting and reporting within the Americas Shared Services organization.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements through appropriate application of GAAP and tax accounting.
- Partner with the business finance team to address key business issues working collaboratively to ensure best solution.
- Take ownership of the balance sheet, drive account reconciliation analytics and variance analysis.
- Provide leadership and create development opportunities for the accounting staff.
- Lead audit efforts with E&Y for SOx and financial statement testing.
Professional Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA and / or MBA preferred Other Qualifications - 10 plus years experience in accounting
- Experience with consolidations / financial statement preparation in a large company, multi-unit environment
- Experienced in managing and motivating a team of accounting professionals.
- Ability to manage the day to day responsibilities while focusing on improving the overall processes
- Creative change agent, experienced in process assessment, design, and implementation
- Ability to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
