Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Insurance & Risk Financing, the Manager position in the corporate risk management department will provide critical management of multiple insurance programs and departmental responsibilities. The individual will be responsible for executing solutions to reduce Ameriprise’s total cost of risk and protect the company’s physical and financial assets. Various other responsibilities will provide the Manager position interaction with all aspects of a large risk financing program within a Fortune 500 Financial Institution. Responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities:

* Manage the domestic and international property/casualty insurance programs including developing program design, coverage specifications, claims procedures and metric reporting for program results
* Develop working relationship with numerous internal business partners to continue gaining experience on exposures for entity and be seen as a subject matter expert for insurance topics
* Manage multiple insurance broker and underwriter relationships for continued success during renewal process and throughout policy periods
* Coordinate annual submissions to brokers and underwriters for insurance renewals
* Monitor on-going loss activity for entity to continue enhancing the buying decision and develop/assign loss control initiatives to meet desired outcome
* Assist in the placement of the network security/cyber liability insurance placement including developing enterprise wide underwriting submission, requesting coverage specifications to meet company needs and negotiate the desired outcome with brokers & underwriters
* Ongoing management of Risk Management Information System (Risk Console) processes, data integrity, and reporting functionality for lines of insurance under supervision
* Prepare presentations/overviews for discussions with markets
* Manage the day-to-day activities of brokers, carriers, claims TPA and provide guidance to staff who administer claims within department

Miscellaneous

* Continue to maintain and advance the contract review process for department. Includes vendor contracts, institutional client agreements, event planning guidelines, subsidiary operations, etc.
* Coordinate procurement process for brokers & TPA relationships working with business partners to effectively manage the annual contracts
* Explore additional opportunities for integrating Risk Console system into departmental work processes and organizational business partners
* Other special projects as requested

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting or finance.
* 4 – 6 years insurance/risk management experience in a corporate environment.
* Extensive risk financing experience procuring commercial insurance including alternative transfer solutions (i.e. captive insurance company).

Preferred Qualifications

* ARM, CPCU or other industry designations
* Financial/analytical reporting skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or a Risk Management Information System
* Strong interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills to interact with business leaders
* Ability to coordinate numerous internal & external parties and facilitate functional discussions under pressure
