Our product offerings span the risk/reward and investment needs spectrum, from investment-grade to high-yield securities and from taxable to max-after-tax strategies. Those solutions often include developing tailored benchmarks, employing sophisticated asset/liability-matching techniques, creating custom portfolios, and/or developing client-specific tax strategies. We are seeking talented, highly motivated undergraduate students who have demonstrated significant academic achievement, intellectual curiosity and an interest in financial services. This program is designed to provide a select group of students with first-hand exposure to careers in sales, asset management, investment research and financial services. You will assist credit research and portfolio management by refining data collection, organization, analysis and presentation. The intern will help improve current processes and complete projects that will be useful well beyond the intern’s departure. As a result of this project work, you will be exposed to a wide range of topics and people. Interns will have the opportunity to work with and gain exposure to senior investment professionals within the Fixed Income division. Each intern will rotate through two 5-week assignments with a different team within the division. During each assignment, the interns will be tasked with a specific project with a goal of producing tangible accomplishments. Potential Opportunities Offered: Credit Research Assist senior analysts with industry level analyses Participate in company level reviews concurrent with Primary issuance processes or Secondary market opportunities Global Economics Assist senior members of the Economics team in analyzing various macroeconomic topics on Developed and Emerging Market economies that are relevant to our investment strategies.. Quantitative Research: Support senior members of the quantitative research team with an in-depth analysis of various Fixed Income sectors to identify investment opportunities. Credit Strategy Assist credit strategist with the development of various analytical tools that will assist portfolio management in optimizing and screening investment opportunities. Candidates should be top academic performers, be interested in the investment management industry and meet the following criteria: • May 2013 Bachelor’s degree candidates in business, finance, economics, math, computer science, engineering, or liberal arts • Some coursework in finance and economics is a plus • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better • Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (now or in the future) • Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player • Candidates must be available to work full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm) from June through August, 2012. • It is not permissible to simultaneously take academic classes or hold other employment that will conflict with the internship schedule. | Region/Country: | Americas, United States | States/Counties: | New York | Address: | Post Date: | 02/08/2012 |
