We are looking for a NY-based Municipal Credit Analyst for our Municipal Bond Research Group. The Municipal Credit Analyst will provide credit support for various intermediate and long municipal funds and individually managed portfolios which consist of a broad range of high yield and investment grade municipal holdings. However the bulk of responsibilities will be focused in the high yield area.

The ideal candidate should have up to two years’ experience, preferably with a rating agency or buy-side firm. We will also consider recent college grads who have strong quantitative skills obtained through coursework or an internship. Strong analytical skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Another important qualification is having strong computer and excel spreadsheet skills and the ability to develop models. Enrollment in the CFA program is also preferred. The Municipal Credit Analyst should be able to work independently and respond quickly to the needs of senior credit analysts and the portfolio management team. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate research opinions in a clear and concise manner. A bachelor’s with an emphasis in economics, public policy, business, accounting and/or computer sciences is required.

Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
•Assisting senior research analysts in the modeling of various revenue streams and land based real estate scenarios.

•Also assisting senior research analysts in analyzing various high income bonds including tobacco, land based, and health care.

•Supporting marketing and client communications efforts with periodic written reports.

•Developing and maintaining various data bases.
