Overview The Integration Engineer will provide clients with a comprehensive range of skills to support the implementation of Collateral Management Systems, working as part of a small multi-skilled team. The Integration Engineer will require strong technical skills and moderate business skills, to interpret client's business requirements and provide business and/or technical specifications for client customisations. It will also focus on Algorithmics' data and integration products and involve project analysis and definition, configuration, installation, data interfacing and consultancy to clients. Some aspects of the customisation involve a degree of involvement in database configuration, data modelling and report generation. This is a diverse role where it will be necessary to travel to client sites, generally short trips for site based work, which could add up to 60% of the time. Responsibilities - Performing on-site and off-site implementations and upgrades
- Managing small consulting projects from start to finish
- Define and scope configuration, interfacing and enhancement work with project managers
- Undertake setup and configuration of the Algorithmics and third party products (database, middleware, reporting solutions) troubleshooting, testing (functional and volume) for original installation and system upgrades.
- Design and implement interfaces between client's source systems and Algorithmics products.
- Training new/existing clients on software
- Interpreting client needs and writing business and technical specifications for business processes
- Developing customisations in VB.Net and C#
- Solving client technical and environmental issues
- Assisting in database performance optimisation
- Interpret client reporting needs, write specifications and report templates
- Testing new software releases
- Participate in client meetings, as necessary
Qualifications Education: - Educated to degree standard (bachelors) preferably computer science It or similar related discipline
Essential Requirements - This position is likely to attract a graduate calibre candidate with proven technical experience with a strong interest in developing client relationship skills.
- Proven ability to address and use initiative to deliver solutions to technical and business problems
- Experience with Object Oriented programming, ideally C# and/or VB.Net
- In-depth knowledge of database design/architecture and SQL with database applications such as Oracle and SQL Server
- Ability to work with competing demands in small multi-discipline teams
- Strong independent problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
Desirable Requirements: - Able to plan and execute technical projects, knowledge of project lifecycle
- Database tuning as part of implementations or dedicated performance projects
- Business Objects / SQL Server Reporting skills
- Finance and/or Collateral Management knowledge
- ETL Tools eg, TALEND
- Self motivated
