Senior Risk Consultant ARS London Job Details

Algo Risk Service (ARS) offers risk managers, portfolio managers, traders, and quantitative analysts a robust risk management and portfolio modelling environment to monitor, manage, and optimize risk across all asset classes and investment strategies. Hosted by Algorithmics and delivered over the internet, ARS provides access to state-of-the-art risk measurement and investment support tools through a sophisticated and flexible graphical user interface.

In the ARS Delivery and Production Support team, Risk Consultants provide the functional expertise to Algorithmics clients utilizing the service. This expertise is employed at all stages of solution implementation, which include scope definition, configuration, user acceptance testing and production support.

Responsibilities

• Review the functional scope of ARS Service Engagements and identify potential concerns or areas that are outside the scope of the service.
• Determine the functional design and approach for ARS implementation projects, and ensure that the associated effort is represented in the project plan.
• Ensure that best practices and high-quality standards are maintained by functional team members throughout an implementation project.
• Mentor and train junior functional team members.
• Consult with clients to apply risk management best practices and propose creative solutions to close potential functional gaps.
• Research, specification and validation of enhancements to the ARS platform.
• Review and suggest improvements to implementation project delivery methodology and efficiency.
• Configure and test functional elements of the client-specific ARS solution.
• Investigate and resolve issues identified in the client-specific ARS solution.
• Assist clients in financial validation of models as implemented in the ARS platform and fully document the assumptions and techniques used.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex solutions clearly and concisely to individuals at all leves of the organization - both verbally and written.
• Strong investigation and problem solving skills. Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
• Good working knowledge of Finance principles and concepts. Previous experience in a complex financial / risk management environment is an asset.
• Practical knowledge of investment markets, financial market conventions, and risk management practices.
• Demonstrated ability and background in working within a UNIX environment.

Education

• A university degree in the field of Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics is desirable.
• CFA, PRMIA or FRM designation(s) beneficial.
