Business Analyst Job Details

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Documenting user requirements, producing business cases, and functional requirements specifications
To provide high-quality, innovative solutions to business problems based on a strong partnership between users, management and IT
Conduct JAD sessions, co-ordinate with business and developers
Perform Testing
Manage and test production bugs and fixes

CORE DUTIES:
Practical information gathering - by holding JAD sessions, workshops and meetings
Identify functional, informational and non-functional requirements
Understand systems feasibility and be able to conduct a feasibility study
Produce Specifications (URS, BRS, or FS) within the specified timelines
Use modern information and process modelling techniques
Develop a business case, including cost-benefit analysis, impact and risk analysis
Perform problem analysis and identify and define the goal, objectives and scope of a project
Obtain relevant sign off from stakeholders
To act as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams
Document testing requirements
Perform testing (UAT)
Provide Support for business and IT related queries
Manage and track all bugs identified during Testing Phase as well as production bugs/fixes
Ensure change requests relating to projects are logged and followed through
Manage, investigate and produce change requests relating to production incidents
Liaise with external and internal stakeholders as and when required in a professional manner
Select and utilise various business process improvement options
Document all new processes and changes
Event driven process modeling
System maintenance – update documentation, assist with change requests, bugs/fixes, testing and implementation

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Tertiary QUALIFICATION PREFER Degree in Business Informatics or Engineering or Finance or IT
Certificate program in business analysis

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

5 years working experience in Banking systems (Back - end and Front-end) and in writing functional specifications
