Regulatory demands have caused the financial services industry, banking perhaps more than any other sector, to take an integrated view of risk management and to adopt new risk structures and programs. Regulation continues to drive the strategic agenda - most senior executives of banks have regulation, and interaction with their regulators, in the top one to two issues that they face on an on-going basis. Continued volatility in the credit markets has further heightened the need for improved analysis and management of regulatory risk within banks. This is not easy considering new guidelines and proposals are published almost weekly by the different worldwide regulatory authorities. We have opportunities and are currently looking to recruit individuals who demonstrate superior regulatory management consulting skills critical to a high performing manager and senior manager: Breadth and Depth of Regulatory Knowledge · Conversant and current on the risk management challenges of compliance with rapid and continuously changing regulatory requirements , including but not limited to: · Basel Committee and Dodd-Frank Act, with implications for capital, liquidity, and how capital-efficient strategies will be required within corporate, investment, private, and retail banking operations, as well as asset management divisions of banks; · Global Systemically Important Financial Institutions (G-sifis), with important operating impacts on balance sheet size, wholesale funding, lending, derivatives business, global custody, cross-border activities - and resultant requirements for resolution planning and living wills; · Consumer Credit Directive and other consumer protection developments, including the FSA Financial Ombudsman complaint-handling rules, with implications for retail banking operations; · Market in Financial Instruments Directive (MIFID), with wide-ranging requirements for trading and banking activities; · US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FACTA), with client on-boarding ramifications; and · Solvency II and beyond, involving renewed dialogue between regulators and the industry over effective regulation across insurance operations. · Ability to assist clients in understanding the impact of regulations on their business models; · Forward-thinking to help clients chart a course when regulatory proposals have yet to be finalized and uncertain provisions are still outstanding; · Generate cost-benefit analysis for clients in cases where flexibility in regulatory implementation exists. Implement Change to Operating and Business Models · Bring direct recent industry experience to client interaction from design to roll-out. Work effectively with internal teams; · Deliver cutting-edge technical skill to develop provoking gap analysis - identifying how existing functions can be enhanced. Build on long-term client relationships with an understanding of client capabilities; · Feature regulatory insight to help clients understand what the competition is doing by offering up-to-date and comprehensive benchmarking versus peers; · Understand the tradeoffs and implications of technological solutions, process changes, and people/resourcing associated with changes to the client's business model. Develop effective plans for change, with appropriate resourcing for the Accenture project team and managed dependencies on other teams & projects; · Ensure delivery of Accenture market-leading analysis, advice, and service - with a programme/project that fully achieves the anticipated business benefit. Deliver Tailored Management Consulting Solutions · Help clients position themselves as competitive environment and strategic opportunities change as a result of regulations and their unintended consequences; · Guide clients as additional requirements on capital affect the cost of doing business & future returns, and offer different paths for altering their business mix and direction; · Highlight how significant operational redesign for many financial institutions will result in divestitures and consolidation in the market place, and a new form of liaison with reconfigured regulators; · Coordinate local requirements & legal entity applications with global initiatives such as Basel III for global financial institutions; · Assist client transformation efforts that address complex change required over extended timescales; · Offer medium term solutions to clients that are capital and liquidity-constrained - and so will need to focus on capital management, product and business pricing, capital inefficiencies, and the structure of their liabilities; · Write leading practice Thought Leadership literature for external publication; and · Identify new opportunities for Accenture to leverage itself within clients - through identification of clients gaps with industry leading practices. What skills are required? We require risk management expertise with a proven track record. The following skills will be required: ·Banking industry experience is a must; ·Specific functional expertise in risk management projects focused on regulatory compliance and change management is imperative; ·Detailed knowledge of banking products across corporate lending, investment banking, retail underwriting (including credit card), private banking and wealth management, and asset management; ·Deep knowledge of market risk and credit risk management practices within investment banking - including the regulatory impacts of CVA/DVA, Stressed Value-at-Risk (VaR), Incremental Risk Charge, and Comprehensive Risk on risk weighted assets; ·Experience of facilitation and management of consulting and/or change projects either within industry or as part of a consultancy; ·Experience of preparing and responding to RFPs, RFIs, etc; ·Able to engage effectively with client project teams and senior executives to shape demand and specification for the categories.
