This position is responsible for credit underwriting function. Focusing on the quality and completeness of credit write-ups completed. Performs a variety of duties in support of Commercial and CRE (Commercial Real Estate) credit underwriting function. Interacts with General Managers, Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Note Department, as well as any other internal department personnel, and third party providers to complete variety of tasks associated with the loan approval process. Assures tasks are completed accurately, timely and professionally. - Reviews the loan request and obtains necessary financial information of borrower/guarantor through PM, RM or GM of respective business units.
- Obtains information related to the loan origination process, including ordering credit reports (i.e. Experian, LexisNexis and DB), appraisals, preliminary title reports, UCC searches, environmental reports, insurance information, flood certificates and various other items.
- Analyzes financial information and spread, structures the credit facility, underwrites credit memo and makes credit recommendations.
- Manages loan process through obtaining final credit approval.
- Works closely with Loan Admin. and CAD in problem solving
- Participates in management projects as needed and assists in achieving the companys goals and objectives.
- Participates periodically internal and external training courses as required by the Bank. Certain training classes, e.g. RMA classes, may land on the weekends.
Education Requirement: University Degree preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or related discipline
- Extensive knowledge in understanding and analyzing complex tax returns. Individual who has passed the Uniform Certified Account Examination is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years in previous lending or finance related experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship both internally and externally.
- Over 10 years of strong underwriting skills in commercial/CRE loans
- Ability to independently resolve complex credit issues and analyze credit risks.
- Good knowledge of bank policies and procedures, rules and regulations.•
- Strong motivation with effective organizational, problem-solving, negotiation follow-up skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Moodys Analytical Risk Analyst.
