Show me jobs like this one| Employer: | GMAC Mortgage | Job Ref No: | 18869 | Job Title: | Senior Technical Writer | Sector: | Asset Management | Sub Sector: | Other | Expertise: | Risk Manager | • Create and update User Documentation and/or online help for the assigned project according to BU documentation requirements and standards. • Create clear and concise documentation for projects based on the client/BU requirements. • Participate in editorial reviews of documents prepared by Associate Technical Writers and peer writers to ensure content has a logical flow. • Fix bugs in the documentation and ensure that the document is accurate and complete in all respects. • Take ownership of the document from start to completion. Technical Competency: Information Gathering and Analysis • Learn and understand the product usage for appropriate preparation of user documents. • Customise content to meet user needs of understanding and using the product features. • Research and understand technical documents to establish basic technical understanding of the project. • Identify relevant information sources to clarify understanding of the project/ product within the team and client/BU. Technical Competency: Process Compliance/Orientation • Ensure good quality of documentation by minimising errors. • Ensure timely deliveries of documentation. • Ensure adherence to a style guide and also contribute to the creation and usage of style guides. • Maintain Repository of all the relevant documentation on a regular basis. • Manage documents using the version control system prescribed by the BU. • Track product updates and ensure that they are reflected in the documentation through updated versions of the documents Technical Competency: Upgradation and Application of Knowledge/Skills • Develop deeper knowledge of various documentation tools such as: o Authoring tools (RoboHelp, MS Word, FrameMaker, etc). o Screen capture tools (SnagIT etc.). o Graphic Design tools (MS Paint, PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro etc.) Position Requirements SnagIT, RoboHelp In today's financial markets, trade-processing lifecycles undergo constant change.
