Position Description
60% Software development. Designing appropriate functionality and programming mainly (but not exclusively) in C# .NET. Code quality must be exceptional in technical design and clarity. Code design must be functionally appropriate and result in built for purpose solutions. Involvement in the full software lifecycle is required including unit, manual and automated testing.
25% Software maintenance. Fixing reported Issues in existing code in a timely and appropriate manner
5% Driving functional product innovation. The individual will be expected to be proactive in ensuring that our components are fully capable of addressing current and future problems in financial risk and operational management. This will encompass researching, prototyping and productising all the way up the innovation curve including partnering with clients.
5% Project management. Undertaking projects and leading them from start to finish. Ensuring that sufficient detail has been given at the functional requirements stage and writing detailed well designed technical specifications suitable for review. Identifying suitable tasks to be delegated to other team members. The reason for doing this is to improve the quality and standard of our software. The more detailed the specifications document are, the more discussion that can be undertaken upfront before development time is wasted writing code.
5% Client Site Visits and Pre-sales demonstrations. Responsible for visiting client sites to troubleshoot and fix difficult to reproduce issues. Moreover you will be expected to contribute to the software sales process my assisting in the preparation of proof-of-concepts or other demostrations. Position Requirements
