Our Credit Risk Management department is looking for a Junior Credit Risk Controller to join their Private Banking team for 6 month Contract. Department Overview:
PB Credit Risk Management holds the credit responsibility for accounts booked in Private Banking Singapore, consistent with the overall Bank’s credit appetite, policies and local business objectives. Fields of activity include: -a competent partner in finding credit solutions for clients in accordance with credit risk policy -develops and administers credit policies, procedures and working instructions taking into consideration the local business needs -Ensures risk-appropriate credit approval and covenant, credit monitoring -Manages the credit portfolio with suitable tools to identify risks as well as for controlling and reporting purposes
Objectives/Purpose:
1.1.To serve as authorization controller for Credit Limits sanctioned for clients; 1.2.To serve as final thorough review and scrutinize the credit documents submitted by the RM team on behalf of the clients seeking credit limits from the bank; 1.3.To activate the facilities once credit is properly approved, credit documents correctly updated and credit documentation is in order. 1.4.To prepare and present various MIS reports for consideration of CRM function in Singapore and Zurich, local management committee and internal and external auditors; 1.5.To undertake responsibilities and projects on an ad-hoc basis assigned by Regional Head of CRM APAC / Head Standard Credits / Team Head 1.6.To develop and administer credit policies, procedures and working instructions taking into consideration the local business needs
Main Duties:
1) Credit Control Checking and authorizing the credit limits approved for clients after they have been entered into the application system by the credit officer; Physically reviewing all credit related documents filed for a client to ensure that they are properly executed and meet the compliance requirements of the bank; 2) Risk Management Checking to ensure that credit is approved by correct authority Making sure that proper follow-up action is taken in each of the above cases by the Credit Officers to rectify it; Conduct validation controls over credit limit set up in the system (i.e. Credit Limit, Collateral Rights & Collateral Masters validation in T24 system) to ensure that they are set-up in accordance with approved credit authorization Develops and administers credit policies, procedures and working instructions taking into consideration the local business needs 3) Management Reporting Producing reports – for consumption of CRM function in Singapore and Zurich Compiling (together with the CRM team), semi-annually, a report of top 100 accounts for the branch; Generating reports to meet the requirements of MAS and/or internal and external auditors; 4) Projects Handling projects or other time bound tasks assigned by Regional Head of CRM APAC / Head Standard Credits / Team Head from time-to-time
Communications & working relationships:
Business Partnership Partnering with: Team Head, Credit Officers, Head Standard Credits, Head Structured Credits and Regional Head of CRM APAC IT Operations team, for reports generated for credit control; Formalities, for handling of credit documents; Legal and compliance function, for ensuring adherence to compliance and statutory requirements; Communications and Working Relationship Both structured and informal reviews with the Regional Head of CRM APAC, Head Standard Credits/ Team Head Continuous interaction with Structured Credits and Standard Credits teams; Credit Units and Reporting Units in Zurich, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, India . Work Experience abd Background:
•Some banking experience preferred, ideally in credit control or with credit risk management experience •The candidate must have good attention to detail, have a strong appreciation of controls and be capable of applying control principles to a wide variety of situations •The candidate will need to be a team player •The candidate should be self-motivated, resourceful and demonstrate good judgment •The candidate should be proficient in the use of Excel .
