Description
 Authorization is a key area of risk management that determines customer experience at the point of sale.
Authorizations channel manager will be accountable for performance of 4 policy areas
-           authorization policy as it pertains to cash & purchase delinquent transactions
-           authorization policy as it pertains to cash & purchase OCL transactions
-           credit policy for authorization based CLI's (ACLI)
-           credit policy for approval/decline of  Balcon Checks
            Authorizations channel manager must combine strong customer focus and deep understanding to P&L dynamics. Ability to balance BI impact with customer satisfaction is crucial as the policy impacts customer experience at the point of sale.
Position requires
         Identifying inefficiencies in any of the four the existing policies and processes and taking timely & independent actions to optimize risk-reward ratio.  Both eligibility criteria and line assignment strategies need to be managed
         Understanding linkages & interdependencies among the four policies and being able to optimize the authorization process rather than each individual policy.  For example, authorization channel manager must be able to assess how universe expansion in ACLI will impact the number approved OCL transaction and consequently fee revenue
         Redeveloping all four policy areas on product specific level to better meet the needs of value vs. cash & rewards products.  Product specific performance on the margin needs to be assessed for potential BI generating opportunities
         Supporting New Product Development & product redesign initiatives.  Potential conversion of reward products to NPSSL WorldCard would require a complete redesign of all four authorization policies and creation of separate judgmental unit in conjunction with credit operations.
Individual will need to
         Be able to explain and defend to internal and external auditors criteria and line assignment strategies for all four authorization policies.
         Keep business managers informed about changes in any of the four authorization policies & the impact of the changes
         Interact with various groups, including the implementation team, production team, Risk CoE and policy teams outside of CV&G to ensure cross SBU coordination and flawless execution of policy changes.
         Interact with Fraud team & have basic understanding of fraud policy is a must as most fraud protection formulas get applied at the point of sale.
         Assist risk managers from other countries in setting up authorizations processes.  For example, auth channel manager has worked with the Brazil team to help set up systems/processes
         Represent CitiCards in his/her interactions with Visa & MasterCard Associations as it pertains to stand by authorizations.
         Insure rapid cycle response in all four auth policies to economic and/or regulatory changes
         Work with Balcon team to insure consistency in front end & back end policies

Qualifications
 

Graduate degree in a related discipline.

Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience.

Solid knowledge of risk management.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytic and people management skills.

Strong computer/technical skills.
