Job Description
Operational Risk Management is an independent function reporting to the T&SS Risk Executive and JPM Chief Risk Officer. Operational Risk Management, in partnership with the LOB management, is responsible for ensuring that each LOB identifies, assesses, escalates and mitigates its key operational risks and issues.
 
Key Responsibilities 
An opportunity has arisen for an individual with strong financial background, capable of multi-tasking, analytically reviewing data and processes to identify issues and potential improvements, with sound reporting, time management, communication and presentation skills.
 
The position requires extensive interaction with business management, the Risk team and the internal control functions.
 
The key responsibilities of this London-based role will be risk management coverage for TSS branches located in EMEA and will include the following:
 
Engagement with business management:

    * Develop trusting and respectful relationship with business partners to create an open environment for sharing risk identification and resolution: win confidence of business partners.
    * Partner with the locational heads and regional management  to evaluate risk management approach.
    * Create and drive a risk aware culture within the TSS branches, educating others to understand the economic benefits of risk management and independently identify, assess and mitigate risk issues as they arise.
    * Partner with the business to ensure the timely identification, escalation, assessment and resolution of complex and urgent risk events.
    * Influence prioritization of the remediation of key risk issues.
    * Drive thorough and timely resolution of key risk issues through effective communication, idea generation and appropriate education.

Strategic change management:

    * Represent Risk Management at regional BCC 's, and work stream meetings to ensure risks are appropriately identified, assessed and tracked to closure.
    * Develop deep dives and end-to-end reviews on a locational basis and provide a risk-based opinion.
    * Independently assess project management and locational governance, highlighting and escalating interdependencies and issues as appropriate.
    * Partner with business management to carry out due diligence of new business initiatives to ensure all risks are appropriately assessed, mitigants identified and actioned.
    * Represent Risk Management in client meetings when requested.

Execution of Risk agenda:

    * Influence risk policy development
    * Lead senior managers to understand firm wide and divisional risk management policies and initiatives: address failures to comply with risk/business policies.
    * Provide value-added solutions to improve risk management practices.
    * Provide Risk and Controls training as required.
    * Participate in risk forums such as BCC's as appropriate.
    * Drive the Control Self Assessment (CSA) process with the business
