Job Description Department Description The JP Morgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators. The global Audit Department has in excess of 400 auditors. The Market Risk and Valuation audit team is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the controls around product valuations and market risk measurement, monitoring and reporting across the Investment bank and Corporate business lines. This is achieved through a dedicated team of auditors who perform both product and line of business reviews in addition to supporting the technology and financial business specialist audit teams. Position Description Auditor position based in London within the Market Risk and Valuation audit team. This role will include execution of the program of audit coverage for EMEA Valuation and Market Risk across all business lines. The auditor will be responsible for maintaining relationships with and providing control related advice to business stakeholders as well as planning, executing, documenting and drafting audit reports reflecting the result of their work for audits conducted.
The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, an ability to work with minimal supervision and strong communication skills. In particular the auditor will be expected to develop a detailed understanding of the businesses lines and products within their remit of responsibilities. Specifically, they will be required to demonstrate and maintain a strong understanding of product specific valuation methodology and processes alongside a detailed understanding of key market risk exposures, measurement techniques, regulatory and financial market developments in performing their role. The individual will be a member of an EMEA team reporting to the Head of Market Risk and Valuation audit who is based in NY. Responsibilities
* Perform detailed audit test work. * Partner with colleagues, clients and control community members to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls. This is conducted in accordance with department and professional standards and will require the presentation of root cause issues to senior client management. * Work with global line of business auditors in the early identification of emerging control issues and reporting them to line of business and audit management. * Perform monitoring of periodic valuation and market risk related metrics with an ability to recognize emerging issues with risk and control implications. * Partner with other groups within Audit (Corporate Risk, Technology, Private Bank, T&SS, etc.) to ensure the delivery of a seamless program of audit coverage across JPMorgan Chase. * Establish a business climate and culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation
Qualifications Qualifications
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. * Proven experience in a financial services firm or in public accounting, with an appropriate level of exposure to Risk Management and/or Valuation. * Proficiency in market risk principles and security/derivative valuation practices. * Ability to run audits, manage projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal risk.
