The Rates Hybrids Trade Management Team provide first-line support  to the Investment Banks Rates Exotics & Hybrids Trading business and act as a key point of contact to the wider bank. The team is organized by asset class and are responsible for their structured trades and any associated hedging transactions (IRS, Cap / Floor, Swaptions, Futures, Bond)

The Rates Exotics & Hybrids business provides sophisticated rates markets risk management solutions for our clients.  Products traded include exotic interest rate derivatives (e.g. Snowballs, Range Accrual) and hybrid structures (e.g. Power Reverse Dual, FX Tarns, Multi-Asset), as well as vanilla hedging instruments (futures, swaps, caps/floors, swaptions, forwards).  The range of products is always growing limited only by imagination, and our ability to develop pricing models and hedging strategies.  Our clients are predominately governments, banks, other financial institutions (e.g. pension funds, asset managers) and large corporates.
 
The Rates Exotics & Hybrids Middle Office provides first-line support for the Rates Exotics & Hybrids business in Europe and Asia and acts as a key point of contact for numerous downstream groups.  The team of 50 is supporting both the day to day business and its increasing volumes and product range.  In addition it is engaged in multiple projects underway to develop the business, working closely with the Front Office, Quantitative Research and IT teams.  The group consists of four sub-teams - Trader assistance, Risk Management, Trade Management (including Business Control) and Projects.
 
 
·          FX Hyrids- Typically PRDC, Range Accruals Tarn Accumulator
 
·          IR Exotics - Typically Range Accrual, Spread Options,  Berms, MBS
 
·          GEM - Typically Credit Linked, Range Accrual, CLN
 
·          Algo - Typically Mortgage Linked, Algorithmic Index Linked
 
Role & Responsibilities:
 
As a member of the Rates Hybrids Trade Management team in London the key roles and responsibilities would be as follows
 
·          Act as the primary control over the accurate capture of the business' transactions in the RM system
·          Building an in-depth understanding of all trading structures from both a financial and operational perspective.
·          Analysis and verification of risk and P&L
·          Monitor and manage trade events throughout the lifecycle of the transactions, e.g. option exercises, knock ins/outs, rate resets
·          Review legal documentation for accuracy against the Risk Management system
·          Liaise with Marketing support and downstream groups.
·          Assessing and improving current controls

Skills & Requirements:

·          Product knowledge - Experience with Exotic products preferred
•       2+ years experience of Trade Support within an investment bank
•       Must be confident to ask questions when something is not understood
·          Understanding of risk types - Market (positions), operational, settlement, credit, legal and reputational
·          Systems skill - Risk management and reporting systems, straight through processing, Excel (VB)
·          Problem solving - Developing and implementing solutions to often complex issues
·          Control -Understanding and implementing the control framework to mitigate risk through the transaction lifecycle
·          Networking and the bank-wide perspective - Understanding the needs of other groups and the importance of relationship building through extensive interaction.
