Job Description
The WSS Global Fund Services Lead Risk Executive is responsible for providing global management for the Operational Risk organization in carrying out its work for the WSS Global Fund Services (GFS) business. This individual will proactively lead the risk management group that acts as an independent advisor to WSS Management in identifying, evaluating, reporting and controlling all significant operational risks of the business.
 
This is a new position.  The position can be based either in the U.K (London) or the U.S. (New York or Boston).  The position will report to the Head of WSS Operational Risk Management. Within the EMEA and APAC regions, the position will also work closely with the EMEA and APAC Operational Risk Executives respectively.
 
The position will serve as the primary point of contact for the WSS Head of Global Fund Services on matters of operational risk management.
 
 Key responsibilities include:

    * Lead the activities of the operational risk team in GFS globally.
    * Partner with business, product and operations management to identify risk and control gaps.
    * Partner with the broader J.P. Morgan risk and control community - Operations Control Management, Information Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Audit - to ensure an effective control environment within GFS.
    * Oversee the effective conduct of end-to-end business reviews and Control Self Assessments across the business globally.
    * Oversee the effective and timely closure of risk remediation action plans by the business.
    * Lead the New Business Initiative Approval process for Fund Services products, and their extensions and modifications.
    * Provide leadership in the development and implementation of Operational Risk policies and procedures.
    * Provide critical risk advisory activities - new client onboarding, process and platform changes, acquisitions, IOS outsourcing transactions, regulatory issues, and readiness for audit and SAS-70 reviews.
    * Lead the analysis of risk events and assist in the development of effective action plans for their remediation.
    * Develop and deliver effective risk reports for senior management, and serve as an active participant and/or leader in Risk Committee meetings.
    * Drive the Risk Management agenda for Global Fund Services
    * Provide leadership in risk training and developing a highly risk aware culture across Global Fund Services.
    * Identify and develop talent for the operational risk group globally.
    * Participate in external organizations within the industry or in risk management

Qualifications
Background Requirements:

    * Experience of securities operations management and/or risk management.
    * The candidate should ordinarily be a Managing Director level professional.
    * Strong knowledge of securities industry business disciplines (operations, sales, fund management, finance, etc.) and global markets.
    * Proven management and partnership skills.
    * Experience in managing teams across multiple countries and regions of the globe.
    * Ability to make independent risk judgments and influence senior management to accept them.
    * Knowledge of Fund Services products preferred.
