Job Description:

Role:

Business Analyst – is required to understand product composition, the economic details that are characteristic for each deal type; and the basic operational front-to-back workflow needed in the customer environment. This includes some level of understanding of structuring, pricing and risk.

Education:

•    BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Finance. Advanced degree preferred.

Tools/Languages

•    Microsoft Excel 2003, 2007
•    Excel VBA , Visual Basic 7.0, VB.Net
•    Microsoft .NET C#, VSTO a plus

Competencies and Skills:

•    Strong, clear communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in drafting technical requirements and specifications.
•    Proficiency with Bloomberg terminal.
•    Strong Excel and Excel Automation skills.
•    Good data mining and analysis skills. Hands on experience with relational databases and stored procedures.
•    Hands on experience in managing large data sets using Microsoft Excel and Access. Proven ability to:
o    Run powerful queries to sort and filter your data.
o    Run sophisticated calculations to derive the information you want.
o    Use Microsoft PivotTable® and Microsoft PivotChart® views to work with your data interactively.
o    Generate reports on your data and view them in multiple formats.
o    Use forms to add, change, delete, and navigate your data easily. .
o    Connect to external data and view, query, and edit it without having to import.
o    Import data from external databases (Access, Microsoft SQL Server™) and other file types (.txt or .htm).
•    Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple deadlines and deliverables.


Work Experience:

•    3-5 years of trading desk experience at a major investment bank or broker-dealer.
•    Strong knowledge of structured products across all asset classes. Expert level knowledge of Rates and Credit is a must.
•    3 years of hands-on experience with a major Trading and Risk Management Platform (e.g. Summit, Calypso, Murex, Reuters KSP).
