Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Integrate the company's strategic vision and operating initiatives, while maintaining appropriate risk strategies within the respective portfolios. Responsible for supporting the full account life cycle Risk functions for the Consumer portfolios with primary focus on the sub-prime portfolio and new business initiatives.  Ability to expand role to manage Risk functions for all portfolios.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Works as a team with Consumer Credit, Collections, Loss Mitigation to develop, implement, and track effectiveness of sub prime portfolio and new business initiatives.
  • Develop, validate and track all scorecards related to Consumer Credit, Collections and Loss Mitigation including but not limited to application, behavior and recovery scorecards.
  • Apply quantitative techniques and statistical tools and translate results to business solutions.
  • Utilize statistical modeling tools to identify actionable insights to evaluate new business initiatives and improve performance of existing portfolio.
  • Identifies and targets areas for improvement makes recommendations within the sub prime portfolio and new business initiatives.
  • Works with Finance, Treasury, and Operations to perform ad-hoc requests and analytics.
  • Responsible for protecting employees, customers and corporate information. Follows established physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, including policies regarding data protection, segregation of duties, use of passwords, and access to information based solely on business need. In addition, any company-proprietary information (including but not limited to customer information) may not be transferred or transported outside of HDFS by employees upon leaving the company.
  • Maintains a current awareness and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and to comply fully with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience/Knowledge/Other Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or Finance required
  • MBA degree preferred
  • 3+ years Credit/Risk experience in financial services industry required.
  • Strong database and/or SAS programming knowledge
  • Proven ability to perform complex statistical analysis.
  • Ability to distill complex analytics to readily understandable business recommendations.
  • Creative thinker, problem-solver.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment
