Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.

Morgan Stanley is seeking a strong candidate for a role on the US Regulatory Controllers Governance team. Candidate must be able to effectively manage a team responsible for FHC regulatory reporting governance and controls and advise senior management and functional partners reporting control and compliance matters. Candidate will need to effectively represent the firm in co-ordinating the examinations conducted by Federal Reserve Bank examiners and internal/external auditors. Candidate will interact internally across divisions including the Regulatory Controllers Capital Production team, Business Unit Controllers, Market Risk Department, Credit Risk Department, Legal Department, Treasury, Information Technology and Financial Control.

This candidate, who will report to the Head of US Regulatory Controllers Governance, will oversee the following team and provide high level guidance to the following processes:
-Provide support and prioritization for Regulatory reporting projects
-Produce metrics and monitoring for reporting attestations, control/data issues, and manual adjustments
-Assist in preparation for internal and external examinations
-Prepare risk/governance presentations for Regulators and periodic reviews with Senior Management and functional partners.
-Produce due diligence materials for CCAR reporting
-Review and update relevant policies and procedures
-Develop test scripts and conduct user testing for new application releases
-Conduct training sessions with regulatory reporting data/control owners on reporting attestation functionality
-Assist in RCSA annual process

Qualifications:

BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years relevant Regulatory Reporting work experience.
Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills including the ability to renovate existing processes.
Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to interact well with others at all levels.
Ability to handle and resolve recurring challenges and problems.
CCAR reporting experience and/or familiarity with Axiom is a plus *LI-ND1
