Global Risk and Control Manager

As a Barclays Global Risk and Control Manager, you will be accountable for managing risk and control within the Discretionary Portfolio Management and SIM (Singular Investment Management) businesses globally. You will be responsible for coordinating all risk and control issues from numerous businesses globally and ensuring the consistent and appropriate reporting and governance of risk and control matters.

As a Global Risk and Control Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:

• Providing general and project support for governance reporting, as well as the conduct and conformance teams in line with the management and strategic agenda as required
• Defining the standards and specifications around which Business governance will operate and ensuring that essential procedures are followed
• Overseeing the remediation of issues, communicating requirements and outcomes with senior stakeholders in the business and support functions, and driving appropriate conclusions
• Chairing risk and control committees for the businesses globally
• Sharing knowledge with others across the team and developing a close relationship with the sub-business governance and conduct teams
• Leading on multiple issues (sometimes interrelated), across numerous disciplines, ensuring that all those involved have clear understanding and are working together to find the appropriate resolution

As a Global Risk and Control Manager, your skills and qualifications will include:
• Experience of being accountable for planning analysis, alignment with key business imperatives and providing support for tactical and strategic initiatives
• A high level of analytic, consulting, influencing and presentation skills and an ability to communicate with ease and credibility with senior leaders
• Discretion and the ability to handle confidential, sensitive and legally privileged information with developed communication skills
• Having high integrity, excellent judgement, and the ability to evoke trust and confidence such that individuals feel secure and empowered to raise issues in order to do what is right for clients
• Being comfortable in managing senior stakeholders while working to challenging timelines
• Holding advanced problem solving skills given expected changes to the risk and regulatory landscape
