Job Description Summary

Responsible for supporting division business unit by providing senior detailed analysis of financial statements and credit histories for loan personnel to assist in administration of commercial borrowing accounts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Spreads financial statements and prepares financial projections.
  • Obtains and analyzes all necessary financial data using specialized commercial credit analysis software. Handles moderately to highly complex relationships.
  • Prepares simple and/or routine credit requests/reviews.
  • Communicates with credit applicants when necessary to develop information concerning their business needs and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk.
  • Acts as team lead in supporting unit's goals through effective credit analysis of applications for credit. Identifies additional business needs and corresponding sales opportunities.
  • Act as team lead in interactions with credit administration, servicing, operations, appraisal, legal and other related personnel working assets regarding issues of quality, pricing, new business and related trends. Works with partners to make improvements in operational processes.
  • Reviews credit checks and makes site or company visits as necessary.
  • Makes recommendations to relationship manager for loan approval and terms.
  • Coordinates ordering documents and assists in documenting loans to evidence debt and to ensure perfection of the bank's security interest in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities to refer customers and/or potential customers to other departments to provided services that meet their needs.
  • Keeps informed of changes in economic and/or market conditions that might affect credit risk and works with Credit Manager to make recommendations and implementation of changes to operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • High School - Required
    • Bachelor's Degree in business or economics - Preferred
    • 3 years commercial credit analysis
    • Ability to draft loan requests, to prepare loan presentations, and to assist in the preparations of the loan structure
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
    • Thorough knowledge of commercial loan processing
    • Thorough knowledge and ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns and cash flow
    • Thorough knowledge of industry relevant software used for analysis
    • Analytical and research skills
    • Negotiating skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Ability to perform independently with a minimum of supervision
    • Good organizational skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Presentation skills
    • PC skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and related software
