Focusing on enterprise risk management, the Associate, Enterprise Risk Systems performs business analysis, functional support and system implementation services. Working in a team of functional and technical risk specialists, this position liaises with business users and managers across Risk Management, Treasury and Controllers. This position is responsible, along with the team leader, for leading the collection, analysis and documentation of evolving business requirements for the Risk Management Systems, and ensuring that project and strategic objectives are clearly understood, documented and agreed.

The Associate, Enterprise Risk Systems is a key role which combines risk management business knowledge, application expertise and technical skills to provide business analysis and functional support for the enterprise risk management systems used by Risk Management and Treasury.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Leads business analysis of risk management and treasury front office requirements to design and gain acceptance for as-is and to-be business processes to produce sound solutions that meet business needs and supports the wider objectives of the Bank.
  • Works closely with Solution Architects and relevant clients at all levels of the organisation to ensure appropriate solutions are proposed and agreed by all parties.
  • Provides support for the risk management systems to ensure they have high availability.
  • Participates in the development programme for the risk systems to ensure that functional system changes, enhancements and developments are sound, support the Bank's operational priorities and are conducted according to the Bank's procedures.
  • Assists Project Managers and/or act as project manager on small to medium initiatives as appropriate.
  • Liaises with external stakeholders (consultancy firms, software vendors, service providers, etc.) to ensure that functional deliverables are progressed optimally and appropriately.
  • Advises Project Steering Committees and System User groups for Risk Management ensuring stakeholders and sponsors are kept up to date.
  • Deputises for the Principal, Risk Systems as required to ensure the smooth running of the team.

Education, Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree (in IT, Engineering or Maths) preferably from a first-tier university.
  • Extensive experience in supporting risk management systems (Market Risk and/or Credit Risk)
  • Good knowledge of market and credit risk and economic capital management measurement techniques (VaR, PFE, CVA and Credit VaR)
  • Good understanding of treasury products and derivatives valuation
  • Knowledge of QuiC (Markit Analytics), ActivePivot, Summit and SQL/VB would be a distinct advantage
  • Professional Expertise - proven ability to understand advanced risk analytics as well as to make effective and appropriate use of functional knowledge and technical skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask and with a good ability to learn.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to operate sensitively and effectively in a multicultural environment.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.
