JOB BRIEF
The Group Manager, Credit Card Lifecycle will lead the team responsible for the strategy and tactical execution of new credit card acquisition and ongoing portfolio optimization including activation, utilization, yield management and retention. Key measures of success in this role will include new business unit volume in excess of 100,000 units per year and average portfolio balances to exceed $1.2 Billion. This position will report to the Sr. Group Manager, Credit Card.

In this capacity, he/she will be responsible for leading a team of product managers and working with support partners to define and implement a comprehensive vision, strategy and roadmap to profitably grow the KeyBank credit card portfolio and align with, and support, KeyBankâs Purpose, Value Proposition and Community Bank strategy. This role will require extensive partnership with internal and external teams for technology, operations, marketing, client insights, risk and compliance, as well as leaders from the branch, contact center, and digital channels.

The successful candidate will develop a highly engaged team of skilled product managers. He/she will develop and nurture an analytical fluency within the team to drive business curiosity, and fact-based decisioning. He/she will foster a creative environment to encourage innovation that will help grow the portfolio.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Accountable for the vision, strategy, and execution of credit card portfolio growth including new account volume, spend volume, yield, fees, and average balances
  • Partner with leaders from branch, contact center and digital channels to develop and align value proposition of credit cards with sales approach and tools to ensure optimal sales productivity and client experience
  • Partner with channel leaders to ensure channel readiness for campaigns, product changes, product launches, changes in policies and procedures and process improvements
  • Assess competitive landscape industry trends and market demand as it relates to new credit card products and services
  • Leverage industry research, competitive information and analytical insights to identify and prioritize acquisition campaigns and portfolio optimization campaigns while considering business needs, cost benefit analysis, risk reward analysis
  • Develop compelling offers and partner with internal and external teams to successfully target credit card prospects to optimize response rates and cost to acquire
  • Utilize innovative campaigns to maximize account activation, spend volume, balance transfers, and total balances
  • Establish listening posts to gain feedback from channels and clients regarding client experience, sales tools, and client needs
  • Forecast unit sales production, attrition and profitability based on current models as well as macro data
  • Monitor and analyze production from all channels to promptly identify emerging trends and take appropriate action to remedy
  • Measure campaign effectiveness and garner learnings that will inspire continuous improvement through a test and learn agenda
  • Ensure strict adherence to with product policies and guidelines to ensure all legal, compliance and audit standards are met
  • Prepare executive presentations providing insights relative to portfolio growth, forecasts, projects, and recommendations for various forums
  • Be a thought leader and change agent with regard to improving internal processes and procedures
  • Facilitate the coordination of RCSA activities within the credit card business to ensure appropriate risk level is attained and serve as contact and SME for regulatory exams, audits and GRC testing
  • Utilize cross-functional operating model to ensure partner inclusion and accountability by leveraging tools such as the Product Management Gating Process, Impact Statement and Bi-Weekly Status Update Meetings
  • Develop a highly engaged team and develop the skill set of each team member


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in retail product management, credit card experience preferred
  • Strong skills in data gathering and analysis
  • Strong problem solving ability; uses rigorous logic and methods to find the right answers and extract strategic insights from large data sets
  • Passion for leading and developing talent, creating followership and advancing Keyâs culture
  • Passion for the client experience and acting as a change agent
  • Comfort with ambiguity; can shift gears to deal with risk and uncertainty
  • Demonstrated horizontal collaboration across multiple stakeholders to maintain strong relationships, including coordinating multiple resources to support strategy development
  • Strong communication skills, including demonstrated ability to orchestrate and present information and recommendations at all levels with the organization
  • Proven experience in developing tailored strategies based on customer needs, preferences, and practices
  • Proven ability to set a vision and gain stakeholder approval
